THE GODHEAD
We believe that the Godhead is the single essence of God the Creator existing eternally in three persons, all equal in deity and glory: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
John 1:1-2
Genesis 1:26
Galatians 4:4-6
OMNIPOTENCE
We believe that God is the only God and He is the all powerful, all-knowing, ever-present and unchanging creator of everything that has existence. God is the highest order of love, truth, righteousness and justice.
Genesis 1:1-27
John 1:1
Romans 11:33-36
VIRGIN BIRTH
We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, becoming man in order to become a perfect, sinless sacrifice. Jesus, being fully God and fully man, lived a life of total obedience to God the Father and was tempted in all things in order to related to mankind. Jesus willingly sacrificed His life on the cross and then physically rose from the dead, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. Those who accept Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives receive righteousness through His death and justification through His resurrection.
Matthew 1:18-20
John 3:16
Romans 4:23-25
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is sent by God the Father to make every person aware of the need for a relationship with Jesus and that he lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides Christians with power for living, comfort, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing the will of God. He also bestows spiritual gifts to every believer and we seek to live under His direction daily. We believe that all gifts should be administered in light of Paul’s teaching found in 1 Corinthians.
Romans 8:11
John 14:26
1 Corinthians 12:3-11
THE HOLY BIBLE
We believe that the Holy Bible is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and life. The original manuscripts which comprise the Old and New Testaments were inspired by God and are inerrant in content and infallible in the truth contained therein. The Scriptures were written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 3:16
1 Thessalonians 2:13
Psalm 119:9,11
FALL FROM GRACE
We believe that man was created by God as a perfect eternal being in God’s own image. Man chose to be disobedient to God, which marred his perfection, bringing upon himself the judgment of spiritual and physical death. Sin (disobedience to God) eternally separates man from God.
Genesis 1:26, 31
Romans 3:23
Ephesians 2:1
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is a free and undeserved gift from God. Jesus paid for our sins through His death on the cross. We receive God’s promise of eternal life in His Kingdom when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior which is evidenced by our ongoing submission to His will.
1 Peter 1:18-21
Acts 4:12
John 3:16
WATER BAPTISM
We believe that water baptism was taught and demonstrated by Jesus as an example for us to follow. Upon our personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we are required to repent of our sins and we submit to Him in total obedience by immersion for the forgiveness of our sins, as a testimony of our repentance.
Matthew 28:19
Acts 2:38
Matthew 3:13-15
HEAVEN
We believe that Heaven is the supernatural realm where God resides and reigns over all of creation. Heaven is His eternal kingdom where all who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior will enter.
2 Peter 1:10, 11
Isaiah 6:1-8
Hebrews 12: 22, 23
HELL
We believe that hell is the real and everlasting place of separation from God as indicated in scripture. It was created for Satan and his fallen angels as a place of everlasting torment. Those who refuse to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior will spend eternity there.
Matthew 25:41
Matthew 8:12
2 Thessalonians 1: 8, 9
COMMUNION
We believe that Communion (the celebration of the Lord’s Supper) was established by Jesus to remind His followers of His sinless life, sacrificial death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and promised return. Communion is an integral part of our weekly worship and is open to all baptized believers.
Luke 22:14-20
John 6:26-58
1 Corinthians 11:27-34
MARRIAGE
We believe that marriage is a holy institution created by God and intended as a permanent and intimate bond between a man and a woman, as God created them, to become one.
Matthew 19:4-6
Romans 7:2-3
Ephesians. 5:21-33
The Gospel:
“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures…”~1 Cor 15:1-4
“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for the salvation of those who believe…” ~ Romans 1:16
The Original Design
God created the heavens, the earth and everything in them. Nothing has ever existed that God did not create. That means everything, including us, belongs to God. God created human beings in His image and made us in such a way that we could experience a relationship with Him. We were created in order to know and worship God. God made us to have fellowship with Him and so that He could express His goodness and love to us.
The Rebellion
The first man and woman, in a moment of temptation, rebelled against the command of God. Their sin and rebellion separated them and us from God. Their sinful desires have become a part of human nature and all of us have participated in the rebellion against God by our own sins. Any basis for a relationship with God has been wiped out. We are corrupt and spiritually bankrupt, and have become objects of wrath because God, as a righteous and holy being, hates all that has been corrupted by sin. All of us are condemned already for this rebellion and God’s commands and laws only demonstrate further that we are unable to relate to God. We stand condemned to an eternal separation from God and to a very real hell.
Jesus: the Christ, the Son of the Living God
God is a holy and just being, but He is also gracious and loving. He was not willing simply to give up on the human race. And so, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus was born as a human being and lived a perfect life. He called the people around Him to turn to God. Some did turn to God but others were threatened by His message. The people who rejected Jesus laid a plan to kill Him, but even this was a part of God’s purpose. According to the plan of God, Jesus was sentenced to death and executed on the cross. He was the sacrifice for our sins. His death satisfied the righteous wrath of God so that God was able to be “both just and the justifier” of sinners and forgive us of our sins. God the Father raised Jesus from the dead, and Jesus is now seated at the Father’s right hand as Lord of heaven and earth.
Our Response
God, through the death and resurrection of Jesus, has made it possible for humans to be saved from eternal condemnation. God has promised eternal life to all who believe on Jesus, and accept His Good News about Jesus, (Who satisfied God’s righteous requirements, and was raised from the dead)Our response is, by faith, to trust that God will save us because of what Jesus did.A genuinely faithful response involves a conversion which leads to humble obedience. Conversion is undergoing a change of heart and mind by God’s grace, recognizing our need for salvation, and placing our total faith and trust in Jesus Christ to save us, wherein God justifies us (credits the righteousness of Christ to us). This should immediately lead us to publicly demonstrate our union with Christ through confession of Him as our Lord and Savior, and submitting to water baptism. As we recognize our sin and rebellion against God and see that God has graciously forgiven us and adopted us as His children, we will continue to humbly submit ourselves to the leadership of Jesus Christ. We make it our aim to live in obedience to God’s will as it is revealed in the Holy Bible. Our obedience is based on the gratitude that we feel for the wonderful gift of salvation.
The Ultimate Hope
God has promised that one day Jesus Christ will return to the earth. At that time, God will establish His Kingdom over all the earth. All people will stand before God on that day. For those who have trusted in Jesus Christ and belong to God, God will give the final reward of eternal life. For those who have continued in rebellion throughout their lives, God will condemn them to eternal death in hell. Our ultimate hope is that on this day God will give us new bodies that will never die or suffer and we will live with God in peace and joy for all eternity. He will be our God and we will be His people, forever and ever, Amen!
